Elm Street United has been an active congregation
in the Merritton community of St. Catharines
for just over 150 years.

We are presently led in our spiritual journey by Rev. Dr. Gordon Crossfield,
aided by an enthusiastic choir under the direction of Michael Christopher.

The Council is headed by chair Bonnie Bryan.
Stuart Keeley and Ron Coulson look after the finances and the church administrator
is Pat Grant.

Elm Street United Church
is a welcoming Christian family
 committed to Sharing God’s love,
Caring for each other and reaching out to all,
Growing in faith and our relationship with Jesus Christ.
We offer a refreshing and friendly place to worship,
with opportunities to meet Christ and grow spiritually.

There is always something happening at Elm Street! Sunday service is followed by an hour of socializing over coffee, tea and delicious goodies contributed by the members. A great place to meet new friends and exchange news with current friends.

Throughout the year there are special events to bring people together. Lent is ushered in by a Shrove Tuesday Mardi Gras Pancake Supper -- not your usual church pancake supper! -- followed by an afternoon Ash Wednesday service. Rev. Crossfield creates a theme for the Lenten season, culminating in a Tenebrae - Service of Shadows - on Good Friday and a wonderful choir cantata on Easter Sunday.

May brings our annual Yard Sale and Barbecue, and in June we celebrate Spring with a Strawberry Luncheon. After the summer travelling season draws to a close we welcome everyone back with a barbecue on the church lawn. October brings our Anniversary Luncheon and in November the UCW presents their Candy Cane Express Bazaar.

Advent and Christmas are very busy and joyful.  The Sunday school children delight us with their pageant and the choir thrills and inspires with a glorious Christmas Cantata.  The Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion fills us with warmth and love and hope for a new year.

Please join us for any or all of these events.  You are always welcome at Elm Street!
